2020 Graphic Design Trends

I watched this while writing another blog post. I really enjoyed seeing the way the information was presented as well as the information itself!

The summary I have of this video is about what the graphic design trends are for 2020. They are as follows: 3D depth and realism, Going monochrome, Shiny metals, Typography craze, Image and text masking, Line art, Collages of drawings and photos, Simplified illustrations, Isometric illustrations, Earthy colors: a sense of vintage, Patterns and textures, Geometric designs, and Liquids.

These are interesting to see, as some design trends never seem to change, and some come out of nowhere. I certainly do not want to see half of these come into play, at least for now. In my blog post Trends - Less + More, I go into further detail about this. I disagree with about half of them, as they are just tacky and plain ugly. However, I am always down to try new things and see how other designers put their own touch on the trends. Maybe the more I’ll see it, the more I’ll like it.

I myself would be intrigued to use monochrome, shiny metals, text masking, line art, collage and geometric designs. They all sound interesting but some of them sound like they are more for design illustrators that have a larger skillset than I do. I would like to be able to pull some of those off but I think where I’m at with the way I design, I would need a LOT of practice before those would look good.
